Abstract

Abstract

This work is concerned with the numerical and experimental investigation of heat transfer enhancement and pressure drop penalty inside corrugated passage.We study the different angles of attack of the stream of flow with the ribs to obtain the optimum angle which give the higher thermo hydraulic performance.
The increase in angle of attack lead to increase in the pressure drop and frication factor.
The increase in angle of attack lead to increase in the heat transfer (Nusselt number).
the heat transfer coefficient (Nu) increase with increasing of flow velocity (Re) , flow due to the increasing in the flow turbulence.
The maximum increasing Nusselt number ratio (Nu/Nus) found at both angle of attack 90◦&60◦&45◦ respectively , while the minimum increase in Nusselt number ratio had happened at 30◦.
The maximum increasing in friction factor ratio (ff/ffs) found at both angle of attack 90◦&60◦ respectively , while the minimum increase in friction factor ratio had happened at 30◦.
the optimum (Re) number range which gives the best thermo hydraulic performance was found between 7000 and 13000.
The best angle that a chive the optimum thermo hydraulic performance which the goal of our study is 45◦.
